In the mid-1990s, with the support of the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, graduate students organized and formed the Graduate Student Council (GSC). The GSC was formed to serve the graduate students of Tufts University by providing social, cultural, and educational opportunities. The activities of the GSC are supported by a nominal fee that is charged to all graduate students at the beginning of the academic year.
