HOUSING

Most graduate students choose to live in rented apartments in the surrounding communities of Medford, Somerville, and Cambridge. The cost of off-campus housing varies greatly according to location and quality. Many rentals are within walking distance of the campus and others are located along the MBTA's Red Line that stops at the Davis Square Station, a ten-minute walk from campus. Generally, students who share accommodations (two-, three-, or four-bedroom apartments) pay an average of $450 - $600 per month including utilities. Vist the Office of Residential Life's Off-Campus Housing pages for more information and listings.

A limited amount of on-campus housing is available to first-year, full-time graduate students. Three houses collectively offer 39 single occupancy rooms of varying sizes. On-line applications are available from the Office of Residential Life. Campus housing is comparable in expense to off-campus alternatives. Call the Tufts Housing office (617) 627-3248 for information. On-line applications are available from the Office of Residential Life and Learning.
