TUTV Press Release

February 4, 2002 - Tufts University Television (TUTV) announced today the launch of its brand new website: TUTV Online (ase.tufts.edu/tutv). The website features information about its current, student-produced TV shows, including Jumbo Love Match, TUTV News, and TUTV Sports. It also includes a helpful, TV Guide-like schedule of all shows being broadcast during any given week. Finally, the website features several pages devoted to the history of TUTV, former TUTV shows, members, and TUTV alumni who are active in the communications world.

"We've been talking about building a quality website for several years now," says Director of Technology, George Farish. "This year, we finally put those words into action, and I'm proud of the result."

Farish says that TUTV Online is a small step towards realizing the convergence of the Internet and traditional broadcasting. "The next step for TUTV is a bit more ambitious: we're going to deliver live video over the Tufts data network. And I'm not talking about choppy Internet video; I'm talking about full screen, high resolution video."
