The Journal

With many of the recent advances in biotechnology, advanced medical techniques, and public health comes a multitude of ethical and philosophical questions, and a need for policy review. Conceived in the fall of 2000, TuftScope: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Health, Ethics, & Policy, offers an academic forum for discussion of the pertinent healthcare and biosocial debates in today's world. Since our recognition in 2001 as a student journal, Tuftscope has been publishing an interdisciplinary journal on health, ethics, and associated policy. The journal addresses different aspects of healthcare, bioethics, public health, and active citizenship. It is edited and operated by students at Tufts University, and is advised by an Editorial Advisory Board composed of Tufts undergraduates and faculty. Today the journal is one of the few peer reviewed undergraduate published journals in the country.

TuftScope accepts original articles on government health policy, public and community health, bioethical matters, medical education, research in the mentioned fields, and other issues dealing with the science and art of medicine and health or our country's healthcare system. The principle objective of TuftScope is to bring together seemingly different viewpoints, citizenship and the health sciences, to transform thoughts and ideas into active citizenship and working policies.
