Soo Bahk Do is a classical Korean martial art with historical roots that date back thousands of years. A holistic art, it balances both powerful striking hand techniques and kicking with soft "internal" breathing exercises, as well as grappling and self-defense practice.

As a "classical" martial art, its purpose is "to develop every aspect of the self in order to create a mature human being who totally integrates intellect, body, emotions, and spirit." Though physical health and development through self-defense are at the forefront of Soo Bahk Do, ultimately training aims to cultivate a confident and harmonious individual who can maximize their potential in every aspect of life.

While located at Tufts, this club is affiliated with Boston Classical Soo Bahk Do, in Cambridge's Central Square, under head instructor PJ Steyer Sa Bom Nim.

Classes are taught primarily by Master Steyer (4th Dan) and Mr. Neil Cohn (3rd Dan), a graduate student in the Tufts Psychology department. Come join us and train in this unique and fun martial art!
