Why Theta Chi?

First, members of Theta Chi seek out individuals they know may be good members for their chapter. Often the first step is just talking to someone and getting to know him better. An invitation to join members of Theta Chi for an Event at the Chapter house is often extended when someone has shown the merits of an upstanding individual. Most of the time, events are ways for the members of the fraternity to get to meet and know possible future members or "rush guests."

After rush concludes, a rush guest may be extended a "bid" to try out the fraternity and participate in weekly instructional classes to learn more about Theta Chi and what it means to be a member. A bid in no way obligates a person to Theta Chi. Instead, it merely serves as an invitation to learn more about our fraternity and its members. If a bid is accepted, a rush guest then becomes a prospective member, and is given the opportunity to learn more about our organization and its members.

About Greek Life

Greek life is an amazing opportunity available on most college campuses that presents a helpful environment preparing students for their life after college. Greek organizations allow students to take on leadership roles within a diverse group and helps teach them how to better deal with certain situations which they may encounter in the real world.

Greek organizations help build individual/group problem solving, organizational, and social skills needed in today's competitive world. Greek life isn't all work and preparation for the future though. It is also meant to make the "College Years" fun. Greek life is meant to increase social interaction among the student body as well as the community.

However, Greek life is a commitment that should not be taken lightly...along with brotherhood and social functions, comes commitment and responsibility.

If you are an undergraduate interested in joining a fraternity, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of rush, visit Theta Chi and the other university-recognized fraternities here at Tufts University, so that you can find the brotherhood that best fits you.
