About Us

The Tufts University Feminist Leadership Alliance originated when, in the Spring of 1998, a group of women chartered a campus branch of the Feminist Majority Foundation.  Since then, the "Tufts Feminist Alliance" (TFA) has been busy promoting awareness of women's issues, creating programs aimed at furthering our goals of social, economic, and political equality for women everywhere, and making an impact on the Tufts University Campus.

The main programs that have become annual events and projects of the TFA include the annual Take Back the Night March, the RESPOND Benefit Concert, the Stop Violence Against Women Weeks, and the Adopt-A-Clinic Program.

In the past, the TFA has engaged in current political/international causes (such as petitioning for the rights of women in Afghanistan), and has worked within the confines of the Tufts campus (the TFA, under the leadership of Rachel Elkinson, helped propel the Women's Studies major into the Tufts curriculum in 1998).

The TFA welcomes everyone to participate in meetings (Wednesdays, 9:30pm, East Hall Lounge), and to help with the coordination and implementation of events and programs.
