Developing & Protecting Your IP
As part of your efforts to design and build your new product(s), you will be generating a fair amount of intellectual property which will need to be protected so you can secure the competitive advantage your products offer.
Your first step in protecting your intellectual property, is to keep and maintain laboratory (R&D) notebooks that you and your team will use to document your daily technical development work.
Your next step will be to file for patent, copyright and trademark protection on your intellectual property.
Finally, you will have all employees, consultants, vendors, customers, etc. sign a company non-disclosure agreement to make sure that they do not improperly use you intellectual property.
