About TEDCC
At Tufts Educational Day Care Center, each child's potential is
valued and recognized. Offering a year-round program for
children of age two years and nine months through kindergarten, the
center's curriculum is tailored to individual developmental needs -
social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive, and physical.
Enrolling children of all abilities, learning styles, and special
needs is at the core of TEDCC's philosophy.
The TEDCC curriculum places a strong emphasis on literacy. Our
developmental approach to reading encourages children to express
themselves verbally and in writing. Every kindergartner
produces a self-published book, and many become avid readers by the
end of the school year. Learn

Activities incorporate campus events and resources, and the center's
Special Friends program pairs children with undergraduate students
to form close one-to-one relationships. There are frequent
field trips to the local community and a kindergarten partnership
with the Somerville Senior Center. Teachers and staff enjoy
the advantages of professional development opportunities offered by
the university and affiliated organizations.
TEDCC embraces a commitment to all enrolled children and families,
working hard to ensure that every child's school experience is
positive and successful. Including children with special needs
strengthens our programs and makes them more productive and
creative. American Sign Language (ASL) instruction occurs
weekly. Family presence and ideas are always encouraged in a
community culture that is welcoming to all. Open 8:00am to
5:30pm with a limited number of calendar closings, TEDCC's schedule
is designed to meet the needs of working families. The center
is conveniently located within walking distance to the Davis Square
T stop on the Red Line and to major bus routes.
