    • I think that when most people hear a bhangra song, they have a natural inclination to move. There's an infectious quality about the rhythm, melodies, and vocals that leaves a person with seemingly no alternative: he or she simply must dance. Or at least that's how I feel when I listen to bhangra. The song begins and before I know it, my shoulders are bouncing up and down and my head is beating forward and back. For this reason, and so many others, I've loved being part of the team! Joining TUBT has let me keep up with my favorite pasttime, dance, and has introduced me to some of the greatest people I know, including: the Japanese born, youtube extraordinaire, are you sure you're not my twin?, Neha Akemi Garge, and our very own straight from the South, Vinny the Venkat/Vincent Keshav.

Least favorite Memory: The smell of bengay and the sound of half empty aleve bottles....

    • Hey everyone. I'm the lone guy on the team right now, which means I get to hang out with crazy bhangra girls at practice all by myself. Just kidding, they're not all crazy. Haha. I had never danced bhangra before coming to college. Actually, I had never danced. Period. However, once I saw the bhangra team perform at my Freshman Orientation Show, I knew that I had to be a part of this. I tried out my freshman year and didn't make the team, but there was just something so addicting to this that made me try out again. It was well worth it. My favorite memory of the team, by far, is when we competed at Boston Bhangra my sophomore year. Performing in front of over 1500 people with over 100 supporters from Tufts chanting was absolutely crazy.
