SAT Prep Workshop

As a Tufts Pre-College Program student this summer, you can attend our popular SAT prep workshops. Although this mini course is targeted at preparation for the newly revised Scholastic Attitude Test (SAT), the lessons and strategies are designed to help you better understand all standardized exams and score better. You will benefit from this class if you take the ACT. Program exercises will help you understand the questions and answer quickly and confidently. Instructors will help you with proven test-taking strategies in a supportive atmosphere. Students who have already taken the SAT or ACT, but wish to improve their score, have found these sessions very useful.

These co-curricular courses are offered at no cost to students enrolled in Undergraduate Courses or Pre-College Courses at Tufts University. Only students enrolled in the Tufts Summer Writing Program, Foundations of Law & Ethics, Health Science Honors, Bioinformatics Inquiry through Sequencing, or in Tufts Undergraduate Summer Session Courses are eligible. Neither Tufts Summer Study nor Tufts University warrantees that participation in these co-curricular activities will result in improved test scores, subsequent advantages in admission to a college or university.

Program Note: The weekly lessons are identical. The same problem sets, instructions, and strategies offered on Monday will be offered on Tuesday. Similarly, the lessons presented on Wednesdays and Thursdays are identical. You can attend one, two, three or four times each week. You can determine your attendance based on topics covered that week, or by selection topics/questions on which you feel you need the most additional help.

All sessions meet from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

About the Instructors

  • Jason Clemence, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at Regis College in Weston, MA. Professor Clemence has taught composition, literature, and film studies at Northeastern University, UMass Lowell, the University of Vermont, and Tufts University.
  • Ayla Sanchez, Ph.D., is a visiting assistant professor at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Professor Sanchez is a graduate of Tufts University and was the 2016 winner of the Tufts Mathematics Distinguished Teaching Prize for Exceptional Graduate Student Teaching.
