Expense Information for International Students

An estimate of expenses for a six-week period (one session) is listed below. These estimates are based on taking one lecture course for one summer session. Costs will be higher if you enroll in a lab course, more than one course in a session, and/or enroll in both summer terms. The tuition per course is listed in the Summer Session Catalog. Please keep in mind that these are minimum estimates for living expenses; depending on your lifestyle, the actual costs may be higher. Transportation to and from the United States is NOT included in these estimates. Your actual costs will vary.

Be advised that if you will be studying under Tufts' student program sponsorship, you are required to enroll in at least one course for credit each session. You may enroll in a second course for audit if you wish. 

Three meal plans are offered for each session. You will need to adjust your expenses accordingly:

  • $998 - unlimited meal plan
  • $865 - 80 meal plan
  • $442 - 40 meal plan

If you are seeking Tufts immigration assistance, you must submit the Financial Declaration Form, proof of citizenship, and verification of current U.S. immigration status. If you are a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (i.e. green card holder) you do not need to complete the Financial Declaration Form.  

If you have a spourse and/or children accompanying you to the U.S. as your dependents, be sure you provide additional documentation that shows your ability to support them for the duration of the stay.  Copies of your dependents' identity and expiration passport pages are also required.
