*A $50 nonrefundable summer registration fee is charged to all students who submit summer course selections to Tufts University.
Paying for Classes
General Information
- Billing at Tufts University is paperless. While E-mail is the primary means the university uses to communicate with students, you are required to maintain a valid street address for billing purposes.
- Costs for specific classes can be found in the course catalog.
- Payment upon notification of your summer charges is required.
- Non-payment of university tuition or non-attendance of summer classes does not indicate withdrawal from your summer enrollment.
- Please refer to the 2012 Tuition Refund schedule if your enrollment status changes or you decide to drop a class.
University Communications
Tufts University’s primary form of communication is e-mail. A valid e-mail address must be provided. Tufts students will receive e-mail at their university accounts. Non-Tufts students must provide a working e-mail address. Tufts University will release enrollment and billing information via e-mail within one to two business days after registration.
eBilling
Tufts University bills tuition and fees electronically via Tufts eBill. Tufts summer eBills are issued after registration is submitted to SIS Online. eBills are issued weekly if you have new charges and monthly if you have an outstanding balance. Statements are issued to all enrolled students even though you may not have a payment due. This practice ensures that you have a record of your account. After any charge has appeared on a bill, it will be summarized as a "previous balance" on subsequent bills. For this reason, Tufts eBill provides an online record of previous eBills for the last 24 months.
In addition to payment with a traditional paper check, you have the additional option of payment using a secure ACH/eCheck transfer directly from your bank account. If you want to send a check in the mail that is fine, too. A payment coupon will be provided to you, along with mailing instructions.
Tufts eBills may not reflect recent summer registration or payment activity. You can also view your Tufts summer tuition and fees charges at Web Center. Depending on your most recent registration or payment activity, Web Center may provide more up-to-date information. Activity on your Tufts eBill will be “refreshed” at the next weekly update.
Note for Visiting Students
Starting in March,
students and all other invited viewers will receive an email
notice from "TuftsEbillView-info@tufts.edu"
that a tuition eBill has been posted to the Tufts eBill
website. On receipt of this notice, it is important that the
Tufts eBill be viewed and dealt with promptly. If, within
two weeks prior to your study at Tufts, you have not
received the emails described above, or received a bill, it
is your responsibility to contact Tufts Student Services
(617-627-2000 or studentservices@tufts.edu).

Pay by Credit Card
Tufts Summer Sessions tuition and fees can be paid using a Visa or MasterCard.
- Pay Online. Paying online using your Visa or MasterCard is safe, secure, and convenient. Using your logon credentials (Tufts ID# and PIN), visit the Tufts Student Services Web Center page and follow the payment instructions.
- Payment in Person. You can pay summer charges in person using a Visa or MasterCard at the Office of Student Services in Dowling Hall.
Pay by Check
Tuition and fees can also be paid by personal check. A payment coupon and mailing instructions will be provided in your Tufts eBill. If you prefer, you can submit payment to Tufts Student Services in Dowling Hall. Please make checks payable to "Trustees of Tufts College," and indicate that the payment is for a summer course or courses at Tufts. Mail it to:
