- Research Assistants: For Comparative study of policies towards AIDS

International study of cross-border health threats
Tasks: review of press response; construction of
chronologies of events; bibliographic searches; literature reviews; tape
transcription; data analysis and qualitative coding; interviewing. This can
involve library and university-based work alone or broader Boston area
library and agency research (or further afield if you are going to be in
Britain or France or Germany).
Qualifications: Some background in a social science helpful, as is
familiarity with databases. Reading knowledge of French or German useful but
not required.
Terms: Rate $9-15/hour depending on background and experience. Hours
negotiable: not less than 10 per week. Eligibility for work study required.
Can start immediately.

- Field Investigators for Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination
The Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination is seeking field investigators
to become part of our equal employment opportunity testing program. This innovative
and confidential program aims to discern discriminatory practices in the Massachusetts
job market. The program proactively identifies discriminatory employers in situations
where job applicants are otherwise unlikely to recognize they have experienced discrimination.
Field investigators will receive compensation from $40 to $100 after each completed test as
well as useful interviewing skills and knowledge of the local job market.
