Assistant Professor of Latin American Studies (tenure-track)
Beginning in Fall 2012. Specialist in Spanish Caribbean and/or Mexican
literatures and cultures, and their diasporas. Ability to teach
interdisciplinary courses highly desirable. A working
knowledge of Brazilian literary and cultural traditions and
Portuguese language would be a plus. The candidate should be able to teach both introductory
courses as well as advanced seminars for majors. Requirements: potential
for outstanding scholarly achievement, native or near-native fluency in Spanish,
Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment. Please send one 15-25 page sample of

Full-time Lecturer of Spanish Language and Literatures
(non tenure-track)
Beginning September 1, 2012. The Department of Romance Languages is seeking
a full-time lecturer in Spanish to teach all levels of language and beginning
levels of literature, both Spanish and Latin American (three courses per semester).
M.A. or equivalent and previous college-level experience required; native or
near-native fluency essential; Ph.D. desirable. Previous teaching experience
and familiarity with computer programs would be a plus. Review of applications
