Housing Choices
Residence Halls:
Miller Hall
Location - Miller Hall is located uphill on
the Residential Ruadrangle, and is close to both the
academic buildings on campus as well as other
residential dorms. The green in the center of the quad
is a favorite place for Frisbee and ball games and also
warm weather studying and socializing. Miller is close
to Carmichael dining hall, and near a student parking
lot. The basement of Miller houses the late-night snacks
and music hangout, Oxfam Cafe. Directly behind Miller
Hall is the Granoff Family Hillel Center. Miller Hall is
a staffed residence hall, with one Resident Proctor and
seven Resident Assistants.
Rooms - The average double room is 13' x 15'
with additional closet space. There are 97 doubles.
Miller has no singles. Each room has built-in furniture
which includes drawers, closets, overhead storage
shelves, a counter and a small mirror. The desk, desk
chair, and extra long twin bed are fully moveable. The
beds are multi-positioned beds that have eleven height
adjustments up to 32 inches with 30 inches of space
underneath when raised to maximum height. The use of
solid cinder blocks or any other material, to raise the
multi-position beds is prohibited in Miller. The floors
are linoleum-tiled. Miller is co-ed by room.
Bathrooms - There are four single-sex bathrooms
located on each floor in Miller. Each bathroom has two
showers, three toilet stalls, a counter and sinks.
Common Areas - A main lounge is located on the
ground floor, and it is furnished with couches, chairs,
tables, and a television. There is also a Ping-Pong
table. Two smaller floor lounges are located on each of
the remaining floors. In addition, there are separate
study rooms on each floor. Both the study rooms and open
lounges are furnished with tables and chairs. The common
areas and hallways are carpeted.
Facilities - A common kitchen is located on the
first floor. It is equipped with a stove, oven, sink,
and refrigerator. Washing machines and clothes dryers
are also found on the first floor, as are vending
machines and an indoor bicycle rack.
