Housing Choices
Residence Halls:
Hill Hall
Location - Hill Hall is located uphill or
actually, up the hill, and then down again. It can be
found behind Lane Hall and next to Hillside Apartments.
Student parking is provided in Hill Hall parking lot.
Hill is also near Tufts Hillel center. Favorite
off-campus snack destinations are only a stroll across
the street away. The Tufts Student Resources Aerobics
Studio is on the first floor. Hill Hall is a staffed
residence hall, with one Resident Proctor and four
Resident Assistants. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors are
designated "Healthy Living" floors.
Rooms - The average double room is 14' x 15'
with additional closet space. There are 70 doubles. The
average single room is 8' x 15' with additional closet
space. There are 21 singles. One 3-person apartment is
located on the first floor. Each room is furnished with
fully moveable furniture which consists of an extra long
twin bed, desk, and desk chair per occupant. The beds
are multi-positioned beds that have eleven height
adjustments up to 32 inches with 30 inches of space
underneath when raised to maximum height. The use of
solid cinder blocks or any other material, to raise the
multi-position beds is prohibited in Hill. Double rooms
have two windows while single rooms have one window. All
windows have shades. The floors are linoleum tiled.
Bathrooms - Two large, single-sex bathrooms are
located on each floor (except for the fifth). Each
bathroom has three showers, three toilet stalls, sinks,
mirrors, and storage space for toiletries.
Common Areas - The main lounge is located on the
2nd floor. It is furnished with couches, chairs, tables,
and a television. Three small study rooms are also
located on the same floor, and each contain a table and
chairs. The lounges and hallways are carpeted.
Facilities - Hill has one common kitchen, located
on the 2nd floor. It is equipped with an oven, stove,
refrigerator, and sink. Washing machines and dryers can
be found on the first floor. Vending machines are
located in the lobby. Hill Hall has an indoor bicycle
rack.
