Housing Choices

First Year Students

Residency Requirement
Entering students and sophomores are required to live on campus unless commuting from home. Commuting from home is defined as living with one’s parent, legal guardian or an adult relative who is at least 25 years of age. Changing to commuter status requires a letter of verification and a meeting between the parent/guardian/adult relative and the Director of Residential Life and Learning. If a student leaves the University at any time during the first two years, he/she will be required to complete the above stated requirement upon returning to campus.

Residence Halls
Tilton, Houston, Hill and Haskell Halls house students interested in living among other students in the entering class. The residential staffs of the four residence halls work specifically with their residents in order to promote opportunities to get to know others and to discuss issues of interest, both academic and social, to first year students.
