Prayer is one of the cornerstones of PSF’s
activities. We try to find an opportunity to pray in everything we do as a
group, whether it be through listening to one another, through singing or
through verbal and silent prayer.
- The
central event of prayer during the week is the Sunday 7pm service at
Goddard Chapel, led by Rev. Kerrie Harthan. The service follows a
liturgical tradition, but from time to time also incorporates elements
of other worship styles. If there is a particular worship style you are
interested in and would like to join the Worship Committee, please
contact us.
- If
you like music, join us for some songs after the 7pm service concludes
on Sunday. We’re always looking for people to join us in making
worship as powerful as it can be for as many people as possible, and
more voices praising and singing is a good thing! You don’t need
to be Kelly Clarkson or Elton John either – all you need is a
willing heart and something to make music with.
- Throughout
the week, we also offer midweek prayer services on Tuesday at 7pm and
Thursday at 8pm in Goddard Chapel. These midweek prayers services are
based on the Evening Rites in the Book of Common Prayer, and if you ever
would like to lead a service we want to hear from you.
- Finally,
if you like to wander about as you pray, join us for our weekend prayers
on Saturday evening. These are times where you can shout, walk, breathe
or whisper your prayers – pray as you are moved at midnight.
We’ll meet on the Tisch Library roof at 11:59pm on Saturday
evening and take it from there.
