On August 4, 2011 Professor Jeffrey Berry sat down with
NECN's Joe Battenfield on Broadside to weigh in on Mitt
Romney's mysterious million dollar campaign donation. The
donation was given by a Super Pac W Spann, LLC which was
formed on July 12th. They donated one million dollars on April 28th
and the company filed papers to dissolve on July 12th. Under a
Supreme Court case
Citizens United, Super Pac makes it possible for
organizations to give an unlimited amount of money to another
organization. This money is intended to help campaign aside of a
regular campaign.

Associate Professor David Art joins the PBS NewsHour with
host Jeffrey Brown to discuss "How Organized are Europe's
Political and Violent Extremists?"
On Monday, July 25, 2011 Associate Professor David Art and
author of
Inside the Radical Right – The Development of
Anti-Immigrant Parties in Western Europe joined PBS NewsHour
host Jeffrey Brown and Jonathan Birdwell of Demos, a British
think tank, to discuss How Organized are Europe's Political and
Violent Extremists? Host Jeffrey Brown, David Art, and
Jonathan Birdwell discussed political and violent extremism in
Europe following Friday's attacks in Norway, that killed dozens,
and the broader issue of extremism. David Art believes that
radical right issues in Europe have, very much, become part of
the mainstream debate and part of today's politics in Europe. To

David Art receives 2011 APSA Best Paper Award
The European Politics and Society section of the American
Political Science Association selected Associate Professor
David Art (with Ben Ansell) to receive the Best Paper Award
for Membership Matters: Radical Right Party Composition in
Comparative Perspective. Congratulations!
