An expert on both China and Japan, Professor Klein is the co-author of
the two-volume, 1200-page Biographic Dictionary of Chinese Communism
(Harvard, 1971) and Rebels and Bureaucrats: China's December 9ers
(California, 1976). He is on the editorial board of The China
Quarterly, Asian Survey, Pacific Affairs, and Asian Affairs. Klein's
articles have appeared in The China Quarterly and numerous other
journals and books. His latest work includes "The Political Economy of
Taiwan's International Commercial Links," and "Japan and Europe in
Chinese Foreign Policy." His shorter essays often appear in the Boston
Globe and he is a frequent TV and radio commentator on current events
in Asia.
