Professor Eichenberg has held grants and fellowships from the Mellon Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, and the Social Science Research Council. His books include
Defense and Public Opinion (Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1983) and Public Opinion and National Security in Western Europe (Cornell, 1989). His articles have appeared in
American Political Science Review, International Organization, International Security, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Mershon
International Studies Review, Policy Sciences, Public Opinion
Quarterly, and World Politics. His research focuses on public opinion, foreign policy, European integration, and gender politics.
