Welcome

A Message from the Chair, Robert Devigne

The Department of Political Science at Tufts University is one of the leading undergraduate political science communities in the country. We are committed to enhancing the understanding of our domestic and international political landscape through the four subfields of American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory and Philosophy. We recruit from the best departments in the world to offer our students a broad range of backgrounds, methodologies, and approaches.

The 21st Century has unleashed a myriad of new challenges; the energy and health care debates, economic turmoil at home and abroad, and the unrelenting threat of international and home-grown terrorism. The Department of Political Science seeks those students who share our commitment to community, education, and research. We extend an invitation to visit our offices, meet with our faculty, and observe a lecture.
