StudentsThe Tufts University Department of Physics and Astronomy
offers programs of study leading to M.S. and Ph.D. Degrees in Physics and Astronomy. The
Department offers a full range of graduate level courses and research opportunities in cosmology,
elementary particle physics, condensed matter physics, astronomy and biophysics. Physics graduate
students may also pursue research in related departments, such as electrical engineering. Special
programs focused on physics education can be arranged in conjunction with the
Wright Center for Science Education
and the Center for Science and Math Teaching.
Tufts is located in Medford, Massachusetts, a few minutes
North-West from Boston and Cambridge. Its location in the exciting metropolitan Boston area offers
excellent cultural, educational, recreational and employment opportunities.
