Employment Opportunities

Student Fitness Trainer

  • Responsible to the Assistant Coordinator for Fitness.
  • Maintaining communications with the Personalized Performance Manager for scheduling and invoicing.
  • Conducting fitness assessments and health risk profiles for clients.
  • Evaluating profiles and assessments and conducting private consultations with clients to develop individualized exercise programs.
  • Conducting individualized instruction sessions, teaching and demonstrating exercise technique, and informing community members of the risks and benefits of exercises.
  • Anticipating potential risks of injury, taking measures to remove them, referring to appropriate departments (eg. sportsmedicine, health services, etc..) and, in the event of an injury, having the ability to implement emergency medical procedures.
  • Supervising the facility during assigned times.
  • Enforcing facility policies.
  • Maintain appropriate certifications (eg. CSCS, CPT, CPR)
  • Assist with the maintenance of a professional atmosphere in the Fitness Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Coord. for Fitness and/or administration.

Student Performance Trainer

  • Responsible to the Assistant Coordinator for Performance.
  • Maintaining communications with the Personalized Performance Manager for scheduling
  • Assisting in fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation of team and individual athletes.
  • Assist with team orientations, follow-up meetings, and individual athlete training sessions.
  • Teaching proper lifting technique and assisting in spotting heavy lifts when necessary.
  • Anticipating potential risks of injury, taking measures to remove them, referring to appropriate departments (eg. sportsmedicine, health services, etc..) and, in the event of an injury, having the ability to implement emergency medical procedures.
  • Effectively and properly motivating athletes to achieve maximum potential in all areas of performance.
  • Supervising the facility during assigned times.
  • Enforcing facility policies
  • Working and communicating with other coaches in the athletic department.
  • Working and communicating with other departments involved.
  • Maintain appropriate certifications (eg. CSCS, CPT, CPR)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Coord. for Performance and/or administration.

Head Student Supervisors

  • Assist with scheduling of Student Fitness Center Supervisors
  • Assist with the maintenance of a professional atmosphere in the Fitness Center
  • Assist with evaluation of staff (Supervisors & Monitors) and make recommendations
  • Implementation of monthly Fitness Bulletin Board
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Coord. for Strength/Conditioning and Fitness including all duties as listed under Student Supervisors.

Fitness Center Student Supervisor

  • Supervising the facility during assigned times
  • Enforcing facility policies and rules
  • Maintaining and cleaning the facility and its equipment
  • Anticipating potential risks of injury and taking measures to remove them and alert participants to them.
  • Assisting in spotting heavy lifts when necessary.
  • Teaching proper use of all selected strength equipment and aerobic machines.
  • Supervision of student monitor.
  • Ensuring proper check-in of all fitness participants.
  • Attending all required meetings
  • Maintenance of current CPR certification
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the staff

Monitor

  • Ensure the proper check-in of all fitness center participants.
  • Answer telephone
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the staff
