The department will not automatically grant credit for a course taken in another philosophy program. Students are strongly encouraged to discuss courses for which they plan to request transfer credit with their advisor (if majors) and/or the department's transfer credit advisor (currently Jody Azzouni). Approval of transfer credit often requires that the Department review the syllabus, readings, examinations, and papers for a course; students who plan to request transfer credit for a course should preserve all of these materials.

The department does not grant philosophy credit for courses which are not taught in a philosophy department.
