David Denby grew up in Gloucestershire in South West England. He attended University College, London and the University of Oxford before crossing the pond to pursue his doctorate at UMass/Amherst. He and his wife, Anya, have three young boys and two old dogs. In his endless leisure hours he likes to run and read Welsh.
