TUFTS  philosophy

People | Graduate Students | Jonathan Cotton

Jon Cotton has arrived at Tufts to fulfill his longstanding dream of getting a higher degree in philosophy and becoming an author of incredibly important books. Currently, however, he hopes to pass his classes and not offend the smart people. He chats online too much, drinks coffee too much, exercises too little, and cleverly utilizes his "beer resources" as a procrastination strategy.

He loves kittens (strictly platonically) because they are "soft and cute."

Eager to enter the philosophical fray, Jon daringly defends the following controversial positions: that the external world (for example, coffee and kittens) exists, that goodness is to be preferred over evil, and that true beliefs are preferable to false ones.
