Rush 2002!!
Rush Schedule / Other Info / Greek Speak / Greek Alphabet
Welcome to Rush!!
We know many of you will be apprehensive and nervous about the events of the week, as you do not know what to expect from Rush. You do not have to know that you are interested in Sorority life in order to Rush, you just have to come in with an open mind and a positive attitude and by the weeks end you will know what you want to do. Even if you decide that the experience is not for you, you will definitely make new friends both in the houses and in your Rush groups.
So, our advice is that you relax, act naturally and honestly, and most importantly, be yourself!! Follow your feelings and instincts, and take a good look at each House and each member, as they could be your new sisters. Give each House an equal and honest chance, ask questions, and get to know the sisters before you make a judgment or decision. Make choices by yourself – don’t do what your friends think you should do –go with whatever place makes you feel most comfortable; where you feel at home.
Rush is an unforgettable experience, just as sisterhood is an unforgettable experience. If you decide to join, you will make friendships that last a lifetime, become apart of a nationwide family and have an enriched and amazing college experience. Sisterhood is what you make of it, and your experience within it is as unique as you are! Good luck – we hope to see you at Rush!!

Other
Info for Rushees:
What should I wear to
the Rush events?
Suggested Dress for Rush: PanHel Day is really casual, but the rest of the nights (except theme) are semi-dressy/semi-casual. This means wear a skirt, nice pants, a casual dress etc. Preference Parties are the dressiest of the Pan Hellenic Rush events.
How
do I know if I am eligible for Rush?
To be eligible, you have to fulfill the following requirements:
Must be an undergraduate at Tufts University
Must have completed one full semester at Tufts or another school
Must
have a GPA of 2.5 or higher (if you are in liberal/arts) and a GPA of 2.3 or
higher (if you are in engineering).
Must not be on any academic or disciplinary probation
Must have never been an initiated member of a National Pan Hellenic Conference Sorority
Must not have been a pledge or new member of a Pan Hellenic Sorority at Tufts within the past year (last spring is OK)
Must have registered for Rush on or before Pan Hellenic Day (Sunday January 27th)
**If you are a transfer student or are concerned about your academic or disciplinary standing, please contact Veronica Carter at the Dean of Students Office so that all necessary paperwork can be completed before you start Rush.
One more thing…
During Rush, the sisters in each of the houses are required to have no more than minimal contact with Rushees outside of the official Rush events. In particular, no sister may discuss Rush with any Rushee during this time. Be aware of this during the week so that if someone you knew prior to Rush or just met at a Rush event just walks by and waves, you’ll know that they are not being unfriendly…they just are following the National rules!!
