Michael Stevenson (shown in middle), Project Coordinator for Parkinson’s research in Linda Tickle-Degnen’s Tufts Health Quality of Life Lab led the lab’s team for fund-raising at the 32nd American Parkinson Disease Massachusetts Annual Optimism Walk for Parkinson’s. The team raised over $3000. Besides Michael, team members shown are Amber Murray-Smith (left), Linda Tickle-Degnen and Lauren Domingue (right).

Dr. Ladin was recently selected to receive the prestigious Greenwall Foundation's Faculty Scholar award. Dr. Ladin's abstract was awarded as a "Top Abstract" by the Surgical and Perioperative Interest Group at the 2017 Academy Health Annual Research Meeting. (June 2017)

The second edition of Dr. Stephen Sarikas' anatomy & physiology lab manual was released in January, 2017: Sarikas, Stephen N., Visual Anatomy & Physiology Lab Manual, Pearson Education, 2018.

Working Towards Independence

Dr. Teresa May-Benson was keynote speaker at the European Sensory Integration Congress, June 2-3, 2017 in Vienna, Austria and presented a talk on "Ideation in Praxis: A New and Evolving Perspective." (June 2017)

In October 2016, the second edition of "Foundations of Pediatric Practice for the Occupational Therapy Assistant" was published. Jean Lyons Martens MS OTR/L C/NDT wrote the chapter "Oral Motor Skills and Feeding." Jean is also on the board of directors for NDTA (Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association) and the liaison to the research committee. They are funding mini grants to support research in NDT. Professor Linda Tickle-Degnen led Postdoctoral Fellow Sarah Gunnery and several graduate students in research on the effects of facial masking, and how facial masking impacts social interaction. The Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's, a strong advocate for quality of life outcomes in people with Parkinson's, interviewed Professor Tickle-Degnen about this research. Listen to podcast »
