About the Lab

Research conducted at the Tufts Nano-CEL aims at applying principles of heterogeneous catalysis to the solution of problems in the production of clean energy. These include catalytic fuel conversion to hydrogen-rich gas mixtures, and oxidation and reduction reactions that convert pollutants (CO, SO₂, NO_x) to innocuous species. Emphasis is on the identification of the important catalyst structures for enhancing a desired reaction pathway.
