Day of Dignity 2009
Volunteers across the country are teamed with Islamic Relief USA in the annual 'Day of Dignity' effort to serve thousands of homeless and underserved people in 19 cities.
Alhamdulillah the Day of Dignity this year in Boston was a great success. Thanks to all the volunteers who came to support the homeless in Boston.
Spring 2009 Retreat: MSA took a day-trip to Martha's Vineyard, where we biked and kayaked, did wudu on the beach, and stuffed ourselves with seafood. Next time we'll have to try the mopeds!
Fall 2008 Retreat: The MSA crew stayed overnight at the celebrated Tufts Loj and enjoyed breakfast in the Loj kitchen and a brisk hike the next morning.
Islamic Awareness Week 2009: A week of events that succeeded in educating, stimulating, and entertaining our fellow Jumbos. Some highlights included Altaf Hussein of ISNA visiting for an intimate lecture and discussion, Muslim Jumbos from around the world gathering to share their experiences, and transforming Hotung Cafe into a multicultural party, complete with samosas, henna, and dabke!
Eid Celebrations We've had a range of flavor to our past Eid Celebrations, from great speakers to ones involving a zikr led by Sufi disciples.
