The Boston Young Muslims Meetup Group is all about facilitating social networking among Muslim students and young professionals in the Boston area. The group will be organizing frequent social outings including activities such as bowling or other games, sports, museum outings, brunch/dinner outings and lots of other fun things.

For those unfamiliar with Meetup Groups, here is a short intro: (Meetup.com (also called Meetup) is an online social networkingportal that facilitates offline group meetings in various localities around the world. Meetup allows members to find and join groups unified by a common interest, such as politics, books, games, movies, health, pets, careers or hobbies. Users enter their ZIP code (or their city outside the United States) and the topic they want to meet about, and the website helps them arrange a place and time to meet.)

The best part is that you can help decide what outings happen through a simple suggestion and voting system and even help organize events. In fact, we will be counting on you to participate and help suggest and organize events. The format of Meetup Groups is essentially that of an informal social group in which many people pitch in to make events happen.

For college students, we hope that this will be a good way to meet people outside your campus and for young professionals, we hope this will be a fun way to meet other Muslims in the area in a relaxed, social setting.
