The Machine Shop and its personnel provide the following services to faculty and students of the Mechanical Engineering Department:

Manufacturing Tasks

• Standard machining jobs using the manual machine tools
• CNC machining jobs on the 3 axis Haas Milling Center
• Other manufacturing process tasks like bending, pressing, welding, etc.
• Assembly of machined parts

Support Tasks

• Assistance in the design of parts to be manufactured in the Machine Shop
• Assistance in computer programming tasks for CAM operations on the CNC milling centers
• Individual instruction and consulting on the operation of the machine shop equipment

Administrative Tasks

• Help with scheduling and management formalities and bookkeeping
• Ordering and supply of materials, tools, fixtures, and other supplies
• Assistance in the maintenance and repair of the machine shop equipment
