The College Positive Corps

The College Positive Corps is the AmeriCorps*VISTA Summer Associates program run through Massachusetts Campus Compact.  The 2011 College Positive Corps supports campus and community partnerships focused on an efficient pipeline to higher education by strengthening student support systems and fostering a campus-wide commitment to access and success for all students.

What is “College Positive”?

College Positive actions are those in which advocates, college students, and administrators are aware of how they impact the college enthusiasm and readiness of the students they interact with as they work in local communities and within schools.  College Positive actions can be exhibited throughout the K-16 pipeline.

    We believe college is an attainable goal for all students!

College Positive Corps 2011

College Positive Corps Members are...

Educators   We provide academic support to students.  We understand college-going requirements.  We ask, “What college prep classes are you taking?”

Coaches   We serve as role models.  We help overcome the information barrier.  We promote college and career planning.

Advocates   We understand policies and voice the concerns of youth.  We identify stakeholders on our campuses and in our communities, and work to improve systems.
