Membership:
Member Benefits
Regional
Collaborations
MACC provides opportunities for networking,
partnership building and cross-stream training through our partnerships with
K-12 teachers and administrators, AmeriCorps, SeniorCorps, community-based
organizations and public agencies.
Financial Support
MACC offers competitive grants to foster innovative community service and
service learning programs in the Commonwealth.
Public Education and
Legislative Outreach
Massachusetts Campus Compact and national Campus Compact monitor state and
national policy issues relevant to campus service and encourage legislation that
supports and funds community service and service learning programs. Relevant
legislative information is regularly included in member mailings and is posted
through the MACC listserv.
Training and Technical
Assistance
Faculty, staff, students and community partners attend training, conferences,
workshops and other meetings at member rates. These events promote service
learning and community service, cultivate a discourse on current issues, share
information and program models, and stimulate leadership, collaboration and
partnership building. MACC also assists members in gaining knowledge about "best
practices" and aids campuses in developing strategies for the design,
development, implementation and management of campus-specific programs.
Resources and
Publications
Publications on new and existing community service and service learning
initiatives, current research, syllabi, curricula, and examples of best
practices are maintained in our office for use by member institutions. MACC also
publishes a newsletter and maintains a web page which posts event information,
program information, member directory and links to other organizations in the
service network. MACC members are also invited to subscribe to the MACC listserv
to receive information on upcoming events, funding opportunities, and other
resources. To subscribe, email sarah.madden@tufts.edu.
