Why did you join MACC VISTA: To have the unique experience of working in higher ed as well as the community.
How does service-learning benefit students and/or the community? Service learning, when done correctly, is one of the greatest forms of experiential education because everyone involved gets something out of it. I like to call it "full circle learning" - the student takes the knowledge from the classrooms and helps the community while acting out what they have learned.
