Why did you join MACC VISTA: I joined MACC VISTA in order to connect two of
the things most important to me: higher education and making a difference. My heart was won by college life the moment I entered college four years ago, and additionally, I knew I could not go on in a career until I dedicated some time in my life to giving back to my community in some way.
What is the role of higher education institutes in their community? One of the many roles of an institution of higher education in their communities is outreach. It is important for all colleges and universities to understand the power that they have in a community and to use it in such a way that benefits the community in which they live. Colleges and universities hold a wealth of knowledge and potential and it is their responsibility to be proactive about community outreach.
