Why did you join MACC VISTA: I decided to become a MACC VISTA because I have a love for education and I believe in the importance of volunteering and "doing good" in the world. The MACC VISTA program was a perfect fit!
How does service-learning benefit students and/or the community? Whether you are volunteering at an after school program or planting a community garden, service-learning greatly benefits both the students and the community. Through hands-on service and structured reflection, service-learning allows students' academic learning to take on greater depth and meaning by putting their skills and education to use and by addressing needs that otherwise go unmet and are valued by the community.
