Why did you join MACC VISTA: I joined MACC VISTA to explore a new city and gain valuable professional experience while making a personal and measurable impact on individuals in the Boston area.
What is the role of higher education institutes in their community? Higher education institutions play an important role in providing young, energetic volunteers to an area in need to both improve the community and give the students hands-on experience in the world at large. Higher education offers a unique time in young people's lives for them to reflect on their own lives and to interact and experience the lives of others. Outside the classroom experience and learning is a valuable tool in creating cultural conscious individuals that will benefit society in the long run.
