Like bookends on an age, Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy reflect two widely different world views and showcase the culture that is most characteristically Victorian England.

In conjunction with the TUAA Travel/Learn program we have arranged an outstanding travel adventure for up to 20 people. This exciting tour, planned for September 7 - 14, 2008, is an opportunity to experience the worlds of Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy with a group of friends from Osher LLI at Tufts.

The leader will be Dot Dudley, one of our most honored and popular study group leaders who led a vibrant group to Bronte Territory in April 2007 and to Shakespeare Country in December 2007,

Space is available right now, but we advise you to call or e-mail right away and we will send you detailed information. It is important to get your name on the list as we are limited to 20 people and we are advertising the trip on the Osher National Network and anticipate significant interest.

A deposit of $500 is required to hold a space for you. Contact the office if you are interested or email Marilyn as soon as you can. Early-booking price if registered by 3/15/08 is $3,195 ($490 single supplement) or regular price, $3,295 if registered by 7/1/08

Trip Includes:

Airfare - Roundtrip air from Boston to London on British Airways.
All customs fees, fuel charges and airport taxes.

Hotels - 6 nights accommodations in first-class hotels.
All hotel taxes and service charges.

Coach - All ground transportation

Meals - Full English breakfast daily and 4 dinners

Guides - Tufts study group leader, Dot Dudley and Discover Europe tour director. Local guides at Chawton and Wilton House

Entrances - Entrance fees to all sites as stated in itinerary

The beauty of Spain is legendary: the sweep of Mediterranean beaches and contrasting rugged mountains, the cosmopolitan cities and tiny hilltop villages where time seems to have stood still. Experience the diversity, color and passion that is Spain in this journey to three of her most exciting cities and regions.
