History
Founded in September 1998 and originally housed in Latin Way the Rainbow House was the product of student advocacy seeking safe housing for LGBT and ally students. The purpose of LGBT housing on campus was to provide safe housing for LGBT students, particularly in light of the high number of bias incidents that continue to occur in residence halls. In the Spring of 1999 the house was moved to 160s suite of Hillside Apartments where it continues to exist to this day; providing a safe event and living space for Tufts' LGBT population.
