Queer Studies (Gender and Sexuality Related Courses at Tufts):

LGBT Center Library

The LGBT Center @ Tufts holds an extensive collection of queer related books, magazines, and videos.

View the Center’s Video Collection.

Search the Center Library using LibraryThing
The LGBT Center has recently relocated its library listing to a new website called LibraryThing. It has the listing of all our books and is searchable by keyword, title, and/or author.

  • Items may be used in the center, or checked out by anyone with an active affiliation with the university.
  • Books may be checked out for up to one month.
  • Videos may be checked out for one week and a five dollar deposit is required which is returned upon receipt of the video.
  • Borrowers are responsible for all items that they check out, and must fill out a check out form with a center employee prior to borrowing the materials.

We have subscriptions to a variety of gay-related magazines, including The Advocate, Curve, Out, and others. Bay Windows, New England's weekly gay paper, is also delivered to the center as well as a variety of locations on the Tufts campus.

Team Q

Team Q is a group of students trained to speak about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues. The team makes these issues real for audiences by sharing their personal stories as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied students. Have Team Q speak in your classroom to start a conversation on an LGBT related topic.

Tufts Queer History Project (TQHP)

The TQHP started as a Tufts Summer Scholars Research Project proposed by the fifth Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center Director, Dona Yarbrough in 2006. Elena Mead, then a sophomore, was awarded the research scholar grant and worked with the director on the project. This website is the culmination of Elena's work. The main objective of TQHP is to both reflect on the achievements and challenges of the Tufts queer community, and to connect our past with our present. Visit the TQHP website >
