Where will we be sleeping during FOCUS?

FOCUS members and leaders will be staying at community centers and churches around the Boston area.

Will there be storage for my stuff if I am not going back home again and need to bring things for move in day early?

Yes, between our actual storage and the use of the coordinators' houses and basements we should be able to accomodate everyone's extra belongings. We understand there are a lot of people from out of state and do not want to penalize anyone for having extra dorm stuff.

How much extra money should we bring for any other expenses?

Meals, transportation and many other expenses are already covered by the fee; however, if you are planning on shopping on your day in Boston, or stopping at a Starbucks on the way back from a center you should bring extra money. This is definitely not necessary however, and you can definitely get by for the whole week on $50.

Where are we staying on the first and last day of FOCUS?

The first day everyone arrives and the last day before freshman move in we will all be sleeping in Gantcher gym on campus.

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

Yes, we highly reccomend bringing sleeping bags and pillows. We are sleeping on floors, so bring extra blankets too; sometimes it gets a little chilly, and extra padding always helps!

If I'm a vegan/vegetarian, is that a problem?

No way! We accept people of all dietary habits and restrictions. All leaders go grocery shopping for their freshman at least once during the week. Just let them know and they can easily accommodate you.
