Surviving Tufts

What To Bring:

  1. For Your Room
    • For your Bed
      • Bed set: Spreadsheets, Pillow cases, comforters (at least 2 sets)
      • Your favorite pillow
      • Down or Foam Matress cover (Makes the bed a lot more comfortable)
      • Heavy comforter or Sleeping bag for the cold winter nights
    • Hamper/Laundry bag
    • Alarm Clock
    • Small Fan
    • Telephone (if you do not have a cellphone)
    • Yaffa Blocks or similar "stacking" product to organize books and other miscellaneous items
    • Small broom and dustpan
    • Iron and Ironing board
    • Extension chord and power strip
    • Small flashlight
    • Batteries (Radio Shack rechargables with recharge pack are the best deal)
    • TV Coaxial (cable) chord if you bring a TV
    • Decorations for the room (posters, pictures, etc.)
  2. Clothes
    • A light jacket and a sweater for the early fall.
    • A heavy jacket for late fall through winter.
    • Gloves, Scarf, earmuffs for anyone unaccustomed to the cold.
    • A Pocket umbrella
  3. School Supplies
    • All necessary school supplies can be purchased at the Tufts Bookstore.
    • Textbooks and other reading materials for classes can be very expensive! Plan accordingly for this.
  4. Bathroom Stuff
    • Towels/Bathrobe
    • Toothpaste
    • Toothbrush
    • Shower Caddy
    • Flip flops/ shower sandals *Must have for sanitary reasons*
  5. Health and Hygiene
    • Tylenol or any other pain reliever
    • Pepto Bismol/Mylanta
    • Ace-Bandage for ankle/knee/elbow injuries - Available at Health Services
    • Band Aids
    • Any other products that you use to stay healthy

Most of these items are available on the Tufts Campus at very reasonable prices. There are also several pharmacies in the general area that should carry most, if not all, of these products.
