![]() Each October, the Association of Latin American Students, along with the Latino Center, help Tufts University celebrate Latino Heritage Month. Heritage Month kicks off with a reception in the Latino Center. The month is filled with activities, speakers and performers. This year, we has a panel on immigration policy and reform as well as a performance of Yo Soy Latina. Our activities ranged from a Poetry Night where students showcased their poetic skills to a Salsa night at Hotung with live band Sabor Picante. The goal of Latino Heritage Month is to raise awareness in the Tufts Community about Latino issues, both in the United States and in Latin America. Through our events, we hope to help people gain a better undestanding of what it means to be Latino and learn about the rich culture and history that we all share. |
