I have a domain account.
I do not have a domain account
What is a Tufts domain account?
Faculty or staff personnel who have an
account on the TUFTS domain can set up
your computer for single sign on with
FrontPage 2000/XP. Provided that you are
logged into your Tufts domain account,
FrontPage will make use of that to
authenticate your access and will omit
the username/password prompt every time
you wish to update your site.
Here's what needs to be done in order to
set up a computer for single sign on with
FrontPage 2000/XP
(***You must have an account on the TUFTS
domain and be logged into this account***)
- Log into your computer with your TUFTS domain account
(as your Internet Options need to be
altered).
- Bring up the "Internet Options"
dialog by right clicking on the desktop
icon for IE or by starting IE and then
selecting "Internet Options..." from the
"Tools" menu.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Click on the "Local intranet" zone
and then click on the "Sites..." button.
- The "Local Intranet" dialog will now
appear. Click on the "Advanced..." button.
- In the "Add this Web site to the
zone:" field, type: "https://frontpage.ase.tufts.edu"
and then click on the "Add" button.
- Repeat for the URL: "https://secure.ase.tufts.edu"
- At the bottom of the dialog box,
check the "Require server verification
(https:) for all sites in this zone"
checkbox.
- Keep clicking "OK" until you've exited the Internet Options property sheet.
- Go to "My Network Places" (or "Web
Folders" depending on the version of
Windows) and "Add a New Network Place".
- Specify a location:
- Departments: https://frontpage.ase.tufts.edu/ase/<department>
- Student Organizations:
https://frontpage.ase.tufts.edu/StudentOrganizations/<organization>
You will now be all set to connect to
and publish web pages. Open your web
with FrontPage to start making updates.
If you do not have a Tufts domain
account or are not logged into the network, please do the following to connect via FrontPage:
- Start up FrontPage.
- Open your web at this location:
Departments: "https://frontpage.ase.tufts.edu/ase/<department>"
Student Organizations: "https://frontpage.ase.tufts.edu/StudentOrganizations/<organization>"
- When you are prompted for a
username/password, the dialog will have
either two fields (username & password)
or three fields (username, password, &
domain).
- If you have two fields:
For people with TUFTS domain accounts
Username: TUFTS\<UTLN>
Password: (your Tufts domain password)
For people without a TUFTS domain account, you will be sent a username/password combination
Username: ASITSSWEB01\<username>
Password: <password>
- If you have three fields:
For people with TUFTS domain accounts
Username: <UTLN>
Password: (your Tufts domain password)
Domain: TUFTS
For people without a TUFTS domain account, you will be sent a username/password combination
Username: <username>
Password: <password>
Domain: ASITSSWEB01
You will now be all set to connect to
and publish web pages.
