New Hardware Standards
Hardware purchases after must meet the standard hardware requirements in order to receive support.

To maximize support effectiveness, ITS must control the number of manufacturers and the base configuration of each computer. Only hardware purchases following the standard defined below will be supported by ITS. Manufacturers have been determined based upon the following criteria:

  • Manufacturers with good products and good reliability ratings
  • Manufacturers recommended by the Desktop Standards Committee/Purchasing
  • Manufacturers already in place in A&S

The following chart, based upon the University wide Desktop Standards Committee recommendation with adjustments for A&S, represents the supported minimum configuration for NEWLY purchased desktop computers. Only hardware purchases meeting the minimum configuration and manufacturer noted below will be supported by ITS.
