Email & Network Support - Students

For help with an Email/Network account:

  • Go to the ITS Computing Center @ Eaton Hall during walk-in hours, Monday - Friday between 1-5pm with a government issued photo ID card or official Tufts University ID card.
     
  • Make an appointment or contact  an administrator/support representative by:

Changing Your Password:
To change your Tufts Password:

Tufts Complex Password Standards:

  • Minimum password length: 8 characters (can contain more)
  • Passwords cannot contain parts of your account name or your full name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • Password history: 5 - your previous 5 passwords are invalid and cannot be re-used
  • Passwords must contain characters from at least three of the following four categories:
    o English uppercase alphabet characters (AZ)
    o English lowercase alphabet characters (az)
    o Base 10 digits (09)
    o Non-alphanumeric characters ( !@#$%^&*()-_+=;:"}{[]|\`~))

Configuring an Email Client to Check Email
For email management, you can use one of the following email clients:

  • Mac Mail
  • Microsoft Entourage
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Mozilla Thunderbird

Using Exchange Webmail:
To check your Exchange webmail from any location with internet accessibility:

  • Launch an internet browser and visit https://exchange.tufts.edu
  • Select appropriate security option
  • In the box labeled User name, type your Tufts username
  • In the box labeled Password, type your Tufts password
  • Click on the button labeled Sign in

To log out of Exchange Webmail, when you are finished accessing your account:

  • On the right of the Outlook Web App Toolbar, click on the button labeled sign out.
