Step-By-Step
Copying Course Materials From One Site To Another Site
(Text version)
1. If you have instructor or TA access to more than one Blackboard courses
site you can copy material from one course site to another course site. To copy
material from one site to another:
- Log into Blackboard as usual.
- Go to the course site that has the materials you want to copy to a different
course site.
- Go to Control Panel / Copy Course / Copy Course Materials to an Existing
Course. This displays the Copy Course Materials to an Existing Course form.
- Under section #1, click on the "Browse button to locate the destination
course ID. This will open a new course locator window. Under "Search
By", select the "Instructor" radio button. Type in the last
name of the instructor and click on "Search". This will list all
of the course sites you can access that has this person's name listed as an
instructor. Note that you must have instructor or TA access to the destination
site to copy materials to it. Click on the "Select" button to the
right of the course site you want to copy the material to. The locator box
will disappear and the destination course ID will be in the box marked "Destination
Course ID".
- Under section #2, there is a list of all buttons and areas on the course
site that may contain content. You can copy to the destination course site
all of the content contained in any of these areas by placing a checkmark
in the box to the left of the area name. Note that the entire area will be
copied.
- Under section #3, you have the option of copying all of the user accounts
from one site to another. You can do this by checkmarking the box called "Enrollment".
- Click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. The copy
function is an second-level Blackboard function. The Blackboard server will
perform the copy operation when it has time to do so. A receipt will be displayed
after clicking the "Submit" button telling you that an e-mail will
be sent to your Blackboard e-mail address notifying you that the copy operation
has been completed. This usually takes a few minutes depending on the demand
currently placed on the server and the amount of material copied.
